Citizen Participation Process: Riverside-Flanders-Northampton Neighborhood Study Town of Southampton, NY

GreenWoods Associates created a citizen participation process for a revitalization study and resource survey to address blighting, housing needs, economic redevelopment potentials, historic and environmental preservation, and community building in three of the Town of Southampton’s middle-class and low-class hamlets. We were responsible for drafting technical memoranda and reports, and for coordinating all aspects of the community outreach process, including interviews with key stakeholders, a kick-off meeting, three topical workshops, a final celebration/validation meeting to involve citizen involve citizens in the process from the beginning to end in order to elicit their concerns, needs, aspirations, and their specific suggestions for revitalizing their interlinked communities.
